Research into passenger and immigration lists has revealed some of the very first Coulearts to arrive in North America: Mary Collard who settled in Barbados in 1686; Stephen Collard settled in Maryland in 1737; Thomas Collard settled in Charles Town [Charleston], South Carolina in 1822.
