Today's generation of the Skory family bears a name that was brought to England by the migration wave that was started by the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Skory family lived in Cornwall.

The surname Skory was first found in Cornwall, where they held a family seat as Lords of the manor of Whallesborough. At the time of the taking of the Domesday Book, 1 a survey initiated by Duke William of Normandy after his conquest of England at Hastings in 1066 A.D., the village of Whalesborough was held by Brian from the Count of Mortain.
