Early immigrants bearing the Ramstent surname or a spelling variation of the name include: John Ramsden, who came to Virginia in 1642; Margaret Ramsden, who arrived in Barbados with her husband in 1665; and Mary Ramsden, her husband and four children, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1820..
