The name Lomneir arrived in England after the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Lomneir family lived in Norfolk. Their name, however, is a reference to their place of residence prior to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, St. Lomer, Normandy, now called Lomer-Sur-Guerne.
