Firnivile is a name that was brought to England by the ancestors of the Firnivile family when they migrated to the region after the Norman Conquest in 1066. The Firnivile family lived in Lincolnshire. Their name, however, is not a reference to this area, but to their place of residence prior to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, Fourneville in Calvados, Normandy.
