Etymology of Dooge

What does the name Dooge mean?

In Scottish history, few names go farther back than Dooge, whose ancestors lived among the clans of the Pictish tribe. They lived in the Kilmadok district of Scotland. The personal name Cadog was Welsh, and has no connection to the name of the animal.
