What does the name Bades mean?

The saga of the Bades family begins among the people of the ancient tribe of the Picts. They lived in the lands of Baad near Stirling and also from the lands of the same name in Perthshire since the Middle Ages. The name is also derived from the Gaelic word bad which means "thicket" or "hamlet."
