The Great Migration

Thousands of English families in this era began to emigrate the New World in search of land and freedom from religious and political persecution. Research into passenger and immigration lists has revealed some of the very first Aulworthys to arrive in North America: Elizabeth Aldworth who landed in Bermuda with her brother Edward in 1635; where they started their plantations. They later moved to the mainland. Joseph and Richard arrived in 1848.
