England Early Origins of the Pyot familyThe surname Pyot was first found in Cornwall where Symon Pyot was recorded in 1297. Later in Cambridgeshire, John Pyet was recorded in 1308 and in Somerset, William Pyatt was listed in the Subsidy Rolls for 1327. In Hampshire, early records show John Pyard and Nicholas Piarde in the Subsidy Rolls of 1327 and 1332, respectively. 1 "Pyatt was the name of an old family of gentry of Streethay, in the reign of Charles I. Pyott was often the early form of the name.
