The name Pendletent is part of the ancient legacy of the Anglo-Saxon
tribes of Britain. It is a product of when the family lived in the chapelry of Pendleton found in the parish of Eccles in Lancashire
. The Pendletent surname was originally derived from the Old English word pendle
which means hill.
It was also derived from the Old English word ton

Early Origins of the Pendletent family
The surname Pendletent was first found in Lancashire

Migration of the Pendletent family to the New World and Oceana
Thousands of English families in this era began to emigrate the New World in search of land and freedom from religious and political persecution. Although the passage was expensive and the ships were dark, crowded, and unsafe, those who made the voyage safely were rewarded with opportunities unavailable to them in their homeland. Research into passenger and immigration lists has revealed some of the very first Pendletents to arrive in North America: Bryan Pendleton who settled in New England
in 1630; Mary Pendleton and her husband settled in Boston in 1679; Otis Pendleton settled in Boston in 1823.
