The Great Migration

Thousands of English families in this era began to emigrate the New World in search of land and freedom from religious and political persecution. Research into passenger and immigration lists has revealed some of the very first Luffingcotts to arrive in North America: Henry Lippencott, who settled in Philadelphia in 1865; A. C.A. J.B. W. Lippincott arrived in San Francisco in 1850.
