Early immigration and passenger lists have documented some of the first Cheesleys to arrive on North American shores: Garrett Cheesly, who came to Virginia in 1664; Charles Charslay, who settled in Ontario in 1871; and Thomas Cheasley, who settled in Ontario in 1871.
