Broggehole is a name of ancient Anglo-Saxon origin and comes from the family once having lived near the brock-hole, or badger hole. Brockholes is a small village in West Yorkshire and true to its name is home to an extensive network of badger setts which are now carefully watched over by a local badger protection group.
