Clan societies and other Scottish organizations have preserved much of this heritage for the ancestors of those brave Scots. Immigration and passenger lists have documented the arrival of various people bearing the name Blanthorn to North America: Sharp Blenken who settled in Philadelphia in 1846; William Blinkhorn settled in Nova Scotia in 1774 with his wife Anne, sons, William and John, Daughters Ann and Eleanor.
