The many generations and branches of the Broger family can all place the origins of their surname with the ancient Anglo-Saxon culture. Their name reveals that an early member worked as a broker, an agent for the sale and purchase of goods and services. Further research revealed that the name is derived from the Anglo-French word brocour, which has the same meaning as the English word broker.
The surname Broger was first found in Middlesex, where they held a family seat from the Middle Ages.
