Early Origins of the Thruston family

The surname Thruston was first found in Suffolk in the parish of Market-Weston. "The seat of the Thruston family is within the parish." 1 A very rare surname, we also found Andrew Thurston and John Thryston both listed in the Subsidy Rolls of Suffolk in 1524. 2 This latter source claims that the name is a metathesized form of Thurstan.
