Coughtrey is a name whose history on English soil dates back to the wave of migration that followed the Norman Conquest of England of 1066. The Coughtrey family lived in Berkshire. The name, however, refers to the area of Cordray, in Eure, Normandy, where the family lived prior to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.
