An inquiry into the early roots of North American families has revealed a number of immigrants bearing the name Attlee or a variant listed above: William Atlee, who settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1744, and descended was Walter Franklin Atlee related to Benjamin Franklin, also of Philadelphia.
