The surname Livezey was first found in Lancashire at Livesey, a township, in the parish, union, and Lower division of the hundred of Blackburn. "This place gave name to a family who resided here, and were owners of the greater part of the township. James Levesey, in the reign of Edward VI. held the estate as a manor, as did his descendant, James Levesey, in the 9th of James I."

Livezey Spelling Variations

Livezey migration to the United States
In an attempt to escape the chaos experienced in England, many English families boarded overcrowded and diseased ships sailing for the shores of North America and other British colonies. Those families hardy enough, and lucky enough, to make the passage intact were rewarded with land and a social environment less prone to religious and political persecution.
