Early Origins of the Husler family

The surname Husler was first found in Oxfordshire where William Hostiler was recorded at Eynsham in 1190. A few years later, Robert, Edid le Osteler was registered in the Assize Rolls for Staffordshire in 1204, and later at Oseney in Oxfordshire in 1260. Henry Husteler was found in the Subsidy Rolls for Yorkshire in 1301. 1

The Hundredorum Rolls of 1273 included Godfrey le Hoselur and later, Richard le Hosteler was found in the Writs of Parliament c. 1318. 2
