Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Gottlieb and Johanna Anders, who settled in Pennsylvania in 1743; as did Adam Anders in 1748; Anna Rosina Anders, who arrived in New York in 1748; Georg Anders and his wife Johanna, who settled in Texas in 1854 with their four children, Ernst Fried. Anders, who sailed from Bremen to New York with his family in 1854.
