The name Bostwyke is part of the ancient legacy of the Anglo-Saxon tribes of Britain. It is a product of when the family lived in Cheshire, where they derived their name from the township of Bostock, in the parish of Davenham.

Bostwyke Early Origins

The surname Bostwyke was first found in Cheshire at Bostock, a township, in the parish of Davenham, union and hundred of Northwich. The Great Migration

Thousands of English families in this era began to emigrate the New World in search of land and freedom from religious and political persecution. Although the passage was expensive and the ships were dark, crowded, and unsafe, those who made the voyage safely were rewarded with opportunities unavailable to them in their homeland. Research into passenger and immigration lists has revealed some of the very first Bostwykes to arrive in North America: Francis Boast and his wife and five children settled in Nova Scotia in 1774; Henry Bostock settled in Maryland in 1779; Henry Bostock settled in Barbados in 1635.
