What does the name Bokale mean?

Bokale comes from a place name. The roots of this Scottish place name; however date back to the great movement of the Norse Vikings. The ancestors of the Bokale family lived at Bowgyhill, in Monkland, in Lanarkshire. One reference lists the name as a nickname, but this is highly unlikely.
