Early North American records indicate many people bearing the name Bibbye were among those contributors: William Bibbie, who came to Virginia in 1621; James Bibby, who came to Maryland in 1681; Mary Bibby, who settled in Virginia in 1636; Edward Bibby, who arrived in Annapolis, MD in 1719.
