Weimer Early Origins



The surname Weimer was first found in Rostock, where the branch of the family Wichmer was recorded as early as 1266. As the family became more numerous, members migrated to different areas throughout Europe. In 1325, a branch of the name Wymekonis was recorded in Luebeck. In 1408 another branch was established in the Dutch region of Friesland.
