Migration of the Steten family to the New World and Oceana


Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: settlers who traveled to the New World and established themselves along the eastern seaboard of the United States and Canada in the 18th and 19th centuries. Thomas Statten was recorded in 1774 as a runaway convict servant in Maryland, at age 21. Joseph and Thomas Statton settled in Pennsylvania in 1840 and 1860. And a Jacob Statton was recorded in the 1871 Census in Toronto, Ontario..
