Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Johann Christian Schrader, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1754; as did Philipp Christian Schrader in 1767. Julius Schrader and Jacob Schrader both came to America in 1776. Johann Christian Ehrenreich Schrade arrived in Carolina or Pennsylvania with his wife Margaret Sonne and daughter in 1752. Dietrich Wilhelm Schrader arrived in Texas with his wife and four children in 1847.
