Schoeller Early Origins

The surname Schoeller was first found in southern Germany, where the name was closely identified in early mediaeval times with the feudal society which would become prominent throughout European history. Chronicles first mention Dietschi Schuoler of Basel in 1270, and Johann Schuller in 1393. They would later emerge as a noble family with great influence, having many distinguished branches, and become noted for their involvement in social, economic and political affairs.
