Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Adam Pfaffenberger, who immigrated to Philadelphia in 1733; Lothareus Pfannenbecker, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1749; Georg Pfaffenberg and his wife Adelheid Elisabetha, who settled in Pennsylvania in 1768 with their five children, Andreas Pfaffenbach, who settled in Pennsylvania after fighting in the American Revolution, John Pfaffenberger, who applied for naturalization in Indiana in 1843.
