The surname Pendow was first found in Worcestershire at Pendock, a parish, in the union of Tewkesbury, Lower division of the hundred of Oswaldslow.  Conjecturally, the surname is descended from the tenant of the lands of Pendock held by the Church at Worcester but Urso, Abbott of Jumieges was under-tenant and recorded in the Domesday Book census of 1086.
