Early Notables of the Guérette family

Notable amongst the family at this time was Jean Guéret, born in Laval in 1559, who entered the Company of Jesus at the novitiate of Verdun in 1580. He taught philosophy at the Clermont College in Paris for eight years. In 1599 he was named master of the novices and rector of Saint-Nicolas de Port, then in Nancy in 1602 he started the novitiate of the Province of Champagne. In 1617 he worked at the Nancy College as a spiritual father and in 1622 became its rector...
