Early Notables of the Desilet family

Pierre Desilles, an architect originally from Saint-Maximin, near Senlis, who in 1550 is recorded as mason of the Constable of Montmorency. He constructed, for this constable, bridges on the Oise, and worked at the Castle of Offoix. In 1578 he suggested, along with Andronet du Cerceau, plans for the Pont-Neuf of Paris and he received the contract, thus was named entrepreneur of the Pont-Neuf.
