Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Edouard Damphoux. He was born in Nîmes in 1788, and entered the seminary of Saint-Sulpice in 1810. He was made a deacon by 1812, and was sent to Baltimore, USA with an M. Maréchal, who was made an Arch-deacon in 1817. Beginning in 1818, Damphoux became a professor at Ste-Marie College for a six year term. In 1822 he became the director of the new university...
