Casarini Early Origins

The surname Casarini was first found in throughout northern Italy, including the Emilia-Romagna region. The name does appear occasionally in the south (where the name bore the southern suffix "o",) but it is much more prevalent in the north. The name Casarini comes from the Latin word "casearia," meaning "cheese." It may have been taken by someone who made or sold cheese for a living, or it may have been taken by someone who lived near a building which was used for cheese-making.
