"Gartshores of that Ilk are said to have held the lands since the reign of Alexander II. Margaret Gartshore in Auchingeyth is in record in 1591 (Campsie), James Garshore minister at Cardross, 1676, and Alexander Garshoar de eodem, heir of Alexander Garshore de eodem in 1699." 1
