The family can be traced back to Louis Bolduc, born in 1648, who was originally established in the city of Paris in the 14th century. Louis travelled to Quebec in 1676 and married Elisabeth Hubert on 20th August 1668. Louis worked as an adjutant for M. de Lotbiniere and eventually became a public prosecutor for the King. 1
Jacques Bolduc was a theologian and preacher. He was born in Paris around 1580, and died in the same city in the middle of the 16th century. Throughout the centuries, the family grew, developed and became more and more powerful. Unfortunately, several properties and titles were lost during the French Revolution in 1789.
