Notable amongst the family at this time was Noël Doiron (1684-1758), born at Port Royal, Acadia, he became the leader of the Acadians, renowned for the decisions he made during the Deportation of the Acadians; Charles Dorion, an apothecary in Vendée during the seventeenth century. His son Pierre was born in 1722 and finished his medical studies in Montpelier, gaining steady respect as a competent medical doctor. Claude-Auguste-Nicolas Dorion was a poet in Basse-Goulaine in 1768 and worked at the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Affairs.
