Notable amongst the family at this time was Jean-Francois Davignon, an important painter in Sevres who did much work between 1807 and 1815, and who was also an able calligrapher. His name is associated with the Regnier method, which was published in 1850. After 1830 he moved to Russia, where he worked in Saint-Petersburg.
