Early Origins of the Theaxton family
The surname Theaxton was first found in North
Yorkshire at Theakston, a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district which is sometimes spelt Theakstone. Relatively small over the years, the village dates back to the
Domesday Book of 1086 where it was listed as Eston.

personal name + "tun."

Domesday Book census of 1086.
