The ancestors of the Qualles surname lived among the ancient Anglo-Saxon culture. The name comes from when they lived in the county of Norfolk. Qualles is a topographic surname, which was given to a person who resided near a physical feature such as a hill, stream, church, or type of tree. In this case the Qualles family lived at the quarel, which simply meant that the family resided near a quarry.

Qualles Early Origins

The surname Qualles was first found in Norfolk where they held a family seat from early times and their first records appeared on the early census rolls taken by the early Kings of Britain to determine the rate of taxation of their subjects.
