Early Origins of the Offstring family

The surname Offstring was first found in Kent at Ospringe, a village and civil parish in the union and hundred of Faversham that dates back to the Domesday Book where it was listed as Ospringes. 1 The village is often called Ospringe-Liberty. Roman fortifications have been found nearby. By the late 1800s, the population had reached 1,015 and comprised 2,798 acres.
