Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Elijah Corlett, who settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1644. John Corlet settled in Virginia in 1701; Thomas Corlett and William Corlett were naturalized in South Carolina in 1797 and 1806. H. Corlett landed in San Francisco in 1852. Daniel Corlett was naturalized in Ohio in 1844.
