Later the Pipe Rolls included an entry for Thomas le Lardiner in 1193 in Surrey. 1 Davygate, established by the Norman kings of England was in the Forest of Galtres in the city of York. Its named after David Le Lardiner, whose father, John the Lardiner, was the Royal Lardiner (steward of the larder), for the Forest of Galtres, a title which became hereditary in the family.
