What does the name Landauer mean?

The Jewish name Landauer is generally thought to be a habitational surname, derived from the Bavarian town of Landau, or "Lande" in Yiddish. When the town expelled its Jews in 1545, most of the refugees moved to Prague, which is where the name first appears in records.
