Migration of the Laguardia family

Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Francisco de la Guardia who immigrated to Guatemala in 1585; and Leandro De Guardiola who arrived in Peru in 1595 with his wife Mayor de Ortega de Guardiola and their son. Among later settlers were Pedro Nolicio Guardia, a Spanish soldier, who came to New Orleans in 1835 at the age of 21.
