The Great Migration

Thousands of English families in this era began to emigrate the New World in search of land and freedom from religious and political persecution. Research into passenger and immigration lists has revealed some of the very first Huddiles to arrive in North America: William Udle settled in Carbonear, Newfoundland, in 1798; Patrick Udall settled in Maryland in 1685; John Udall settled in New England in 1751; James Udell settled in Philadelphia in 1862.
