Early Notables of the Gobe family (pre 1700)


Notable amongst the family during this period was Balthesar Gobelin, who was general treasurer of the artillery in 1571. Claude Gobé was a general and fought in Normandy in 1573 and 1574. He was named brigadier in 1589. As Grand provost of Normandy, he found himself at the battles of Arques in 1589, Ivry in 1590, and at the sieges of Rouen in 1591, Paris in 1594, La Fere in 1596 and Amiens in 1597. Antoine...
