The Spanish Bracquemond surname is said to derive from the name of the French town of Bracquemont, near Dieppe.

Bracquemond Early Origins

The surname Bracquemond was first found in Valladolid, a very important city in Old Castile. The name is said to have come to Spain with Rubin de Bracamonte, a French Admiral, during the reign of "Don Enrique II" or Henry II of Castile (lived 1334-1379). One of the earliest references to this name or to a variant is a record of one Alonso Davalos y Bracamonte, first Count of Miravalle in 1645.
