Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Bartolome Sebastian who came to the Spanish Main in 1534; Diego Sebastian who immigrated to Rio de la Plata in 1535; and Francisco Sebastian who settled in the Dominican Republic in 1564. Later migrants included Benito Sebastian who immigrated to Puerto Rico in 1823.
