Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Anton Land, who emigrated to America in 1709. Elisabeth Land came to Carolina in 1734; while Francis Lande came to Charles Town [Charleston], South Carolina in 1776. Thomas Lander came to Annapolis in 1719.
